Sponsor Compliance & Audits

IAA regulated immigration advisers helping UK businesses stay audit-ready, meet their sponsor duties and protect their licence from suspension or revocation

What Does Sponsor Licence Compliance Mean?

When the Home Office grants your business a Sponsor Licence, it is not a one-time approval. It comes with a set of strict, ongoing legal obligations that you must meet throughout the life of your licence — and the Home Office can check your compliance at any time, with or without prior notice.

These obligations cover three main areas: keeping accurate records for every sponsored worker, actively monitoring your sponsored employees and reporting specific changes or events to the Home Office via the Sponsorship Management System (SMS) within set timeframes.

Waltham Law Chambers Ltd provides immigration advice and assistance within its IAA Level 1 authorisation. We assess the scope and complexity of each instruction before accepting it.

How Our Sponsor Compliance Audit Works

We review the records and procedures supplied to us against relevant sponsor duties and identify apparent gaps requiring attention. The review depends on the information made available and does not guarantee that every issue will be identified or that the Home Office will reach a particular decision.

Step 1 — Mock Audit & System Review

We conduct a full mock Home Office audit — reviewing your SMS records, right-to-work files, HR systems and key personnel to identify gap before a real visit takes place.

Step 2 — Detailed Compliance Report

We deliver a clear written report outlining every issue found, rated by severity — so you know exactly where you stand and what the Home Office would find.

Step 3 — Action Plan & Implementation

We build a prioritised action plan to fix every issue identified and work alongside you to implement it — from updating SMS records to restructuring your right-to-work process.

Step 4 — Staff Training & Ongoing Suppor

We train your key personnel on their specific compliance responsibilities and provide ongoing support to keep your business audit-ready as your team and workforce evolve.
