Sponsor Licence Management and Compliance

Waltham Law Chamber's IAA regulated immigration advisers manage your Sponsor Licence Management, so your business stays compliant and your sponsored workers are protected.

What is Sponsor Licence Management and Compliance?

The routine requirement to renew a sponsor licence every four years was removed on 6 April 2024. Most licences now remain valid unless surrendered or revoked. Different time limits apply to the UK Expansion Worker and Scale-up routes, which generally have a maximum licence duration of four years.

Sponsor licence management is an ongoing responsibility. Employers must maintain the required records, keep licence details up to date and meet the reporting duties set out in the Home Office sponsor guidance. The Home Office may check compliance during the life of a licence.

A failure to comply with sponsor duties can lead to Home Office action and may affect sponsored workers. The consequences depend on the action taken and the circumstances of the case. Employers who receive a compliance notice should obtain advice promptly.

Waltham Law Chambers assists with routine sponsor licence management within its authorised scope. We review your requirements before accepting instructions and explain the work we can undertake, the documents required and our agreed fees.

Are You Eligible to Apply?

We assist employers with routine sponsor licence management, including checking licence details, reviewing record-keeping arrangements and identifying reporting requirements. We assess the proposed work before confirming whether it falls within our authorisation and competence. Matters involving contested enforcement action or complex legal representations require an appropriately authorised provider.
